Blue Stone.

I wrapped up work at the studio on this illustration titled, Blue Stone.

I’d been sitting on the idea of incorporating rocks into a drawing for a while and when I see the New Balance x Action Bronson release news, I started sketching out ideas right away.

Based on the Lapis Lazuli semi precious stone, which is believed to bring you strength, courage and truth, I went to work finding ways of pulling the stone from the shoe itself.

The large blue section on the midsole was the perfect starting point. I mixed in polished and raw Lapis Lazuli stones to demonstrate the challenges we take with each step. Here's the latest piece. Enjoy!
